Introduction / History
The Ayyarakam people are historically located in the Gajapati District of Orissa and the Srikakulam District of Andra Pradesh in India. Their leader is called Mandala Naidu (Padala Gurivi Naidu of Sariapally Village) He is head of the caste as well as head of the village. In whichever village these people reside, the head of the village is from this caste. These people are landlords and sincere in their nature. They do well at looking after welfare of the people.
Where are they located?
They are located in the Gajapati District of Orissa (Sariapally, Adagam, Gosani, Sobhara, Singupuram, Chintapally, Neelapuram) and the Srikakulam District of Andra Pradesh (Annavaram, Ganguvada, Pathapatnam, Gangarajapuram, Savara Gurandi, Padanapuram,Kotha Valasa, Kichada, Kotipam, Kerjilla, Peda Gudaba, Appandolasa, Maradikota,Guvada, Hyderabad and vishakhapatnam.)
What are their lives like?
Mostly they are landlords, and Naidus (heads) of villages. Their Caste head is called Mandala Naidu (Padala Gurivi Naidu of Sariapally Village is the Mandala Naidu of this caste.)
What are their beliefs?
They believe in the Hindu gods Lord Sri Venkateswara, Lord Shiva, Sri Laxmi, Sri Sakhti Ammavaru.
What are their needs?
Agriculture, education, political participation, social welfare, employment, etc.
