Data
Sharing Security Top
Joshua Project desires to promote ministry partnership and networking
for maximum impact and efficiency, but do not wish to jeopardize
or compromise ministry activity. Several levels of security have
been developed. The highest recommended security by any data owner,
provider or user will be used. |
| |
- Data Sharing Security Level 0:
Public data - Your name, address and commitment is fully public
and may be shared with the broader Christian community through
CD-Rom, the Internet, or printed form.
- Data Sharing Security Level 1:
Shared with screened contacts only - Your name, address and commitment
may be shared confidentially with those who pass security screening.
Screening involves checking references for the person requesting
the data and determining their intended use of the data.
- Data Sharing Security Level 2:
Do not share - Your ministry activity among a people is recorded
primarily for statusing purposes and will not be released or published
outside of the Unreached Peoples Alliance of ministries.

Data Publication
Security Top
When Joshua Project publishes "Public data" (defined
above) in printed form or to the world-wide web the below security
levels are followed. These levels were developed in consultation
with Patrick Johnstone and other mission researchers.
Each country in the world is assigned a security level 0, 1 or 2 and
all the people groups in that country are treated at that security
level as a minimum. Each people group is also assigned a security
level 1 or 2 if the security level in a particular group is higher
than the country security level. For example, Chad is a security level
0 country, but some of the more sensitive groups in Chad are given
a security level of 1 or 2. A group would never be at a lower security
level than the country they are in. |
| |
- Publication Security Level 0:
Open information, names and ministry activity published
- Publication Security Level 1:
Summaries only published, no names, such as "# of organizations
involved in church planting: 16".
- Publication Security Level 2:
Nothing published, listed as "Not Available" on
the web.
