Introduction / History

The Karko people group is a tribe living in nine villages in Dilling county, of the Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. They have their own language, Karko, but there are also Arabized Karko people whose primary language is Sudanese Arabic.

What Are Their Lives Like?

They live on a simple diet from the sorghum and corn they grow as well as beef, mutton and goat from the livestock they raise.

What Are Their Beliefs?

The Karko people are all Muslims.

What Are Their Needs?

They have no schools or health care facilities.
