The Garo are a scheduled tribe in Meghalaya in India. They speak Garo. In Assam, the Garo speak Garo and Assamese. In Nagaland they speak Nagamese and read and write in Roman. In Tripura they speak Bengali and Kakbarak. In West Bengal they read and write Bengali.
