Introduction

Kunbi (the alternate names of Reddi and Desai) are a prominent community of Gujarat. Traditionally the Reddy belong to the fourth of the Hindu Varnas, Sudra. One section of the Reddy is called Kapu which means guardian. Among the Kunbi, cross-cousin marriages of both types are allowed. Reddy are primarily landlords and landholders. Social control is regulated through traditional caste and village councils. The traditional occupation of most of the Kunbi is settled farming, followed by animal husbandry and paid labor. Both men and women smoke a homemade cigarette which results in a high incidence of mouth and throat cancer.

Ministry Obstacles

When all of your community is Hindu, you seldom dare to consider other spiritual ways. The Kunbi in Pakistan speak Sindhi. This language has an abundance of evangelistic materials that gospel workers can use.

Outreach Ideas

Pray for the Followers of Christ

Pray for the Entire People Group

Pray God will send several Christian workers to work among them and meet their spiritual and physical needs.
Pray for the Kunbi Christians to reach out to them and disciple them in his ways.
Pray for them to have the spiritual hunger it takes to embrace Christ no matter what social pressure they face.
