The Hindu Rathawa people have some unusual practices regarding where they build their homes. They won't build homes near a tamarind tree since they think these are haunted by spirits. Instead, they like their settlements to be near a grove of palm trees. Their houses usually have no windows, and they build their houses on elevated ground to prevent flooding.
Rathawa in Pakistan speak Sindhi which has Scripture and various resources. However, God's Word is not available in the Rathawi language spoken by the Rathawa in India. No other gospel resources, such as recordings, radio programs, or tracts are available in this language. God's Word in Rathawi will someday make a big impact on the community, but that day has not yet come.
Rathawas are generally friendly with outsiders. Their way of honoring guests is by serving them food in their kitchen. This would be a great time for believers to tell stories of Jesus!
Pray for Rathawa believers to be filled with the fruit and the power of the Holy Spirit so they can live victorious lives.
Pray for workers to go to the Rathawa people, and for their hearts to be ready to receive their savior. Pray for a chain reaction of families reaching families that results in thousands of new believers who share their faith with others until the gospel is well established in their communities in both India and Pakistan.
