Introduction

“Sirvi” means partner. One school of thought says that the Sirvi caste is a warrior race originating from the Rajput community. During the 12th century, there were many fierce battles taking place between them and the King of Girinar. Many lost their lives. The remaining warriors gave up their arms and migrated to Jalore in what is now Rajasthan. They were later called Kharadia Rajputs. After migration, this Rajput community started farming in partnership with local farmers. They had permission from the king to farm, but they had to give to his treasury from their production. The king settled them in 24 different villages of Jalore, Rajasthan. Sirvi have always been an honest and hard-working people. They have gained the respect and help of the surrounding people when they try to establish themselves.
