The Dangariks are a Pashtun people.
The Dangarik people live in the southern Chitral section of Pakistan's northwestern province called Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Dangariks are livestock herders. They also raise chickens. They do not have regular access to clean water or electricity. Their lives are simple, and most likely they do not have a long life expectancy. Most likely they have to deal with armed gunmen and danger throughout their lives.
The Dangarik people were converted to Islam from Hinduism long ago. However, like most Islamic tribal people in South Asia, their form of Islam is not orthodox. They might pray five times a day facing Mecca, but they don't always put their faith in Allah, the Supreme God in Islam. Instead, there are many superstitions and spirit beings that they rely on for their daily needs. As Pashtuns, they have their own code of honor that supersedes their adherence to Islam.
They need adequate water for their herds. These are people who live without adequate education, medical care or clean water. But most of all, they need a Savior who will provide them with abundant life.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to give the Dangarik people teachable and understanding hearts.
Pray that a strong movement of the Holy Spirit will bring entire Dangarik families into a rich experience of God's blessing.
Pray for Dangarik families to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness, and to understand the adequacy of Christ's work on the cross.
Pray for teams of believers to do sustained, focused prayer for the Lord to open the hearts of Dangarik family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.
