Introduction

The Yadav community, which was also once referred to as Ahir, is identified as an immigrant tribe included in ancient inscription books and Hindu texts. One of their main subgroups is the Ghosi. The term Ghosi refers to a herder. Their ancestors probably came from Central Asia. Yadav believe their main lineage is from the various kings and the Hindu god Krishna, who engage in animal husbandry, milk production and cattle raising. While some remain landless laborers at the moment, others have diversified into business, teaching, politics and various professions. They have good status among Hindus both in India and Nepal.

Ministry Obstacles

Due to their association with cattle being considered holy by the Hindus, they have high prestige. This gives them a sense of pride and self-confidence which is a barrier to the humility it takes to accept the gospel.
