Kujriya in Sudan

The Kujriya live in 10 villages in the remote Nuba Mountains in the state of South Kordofan, Sudan. They are farmers and also raise livestock. On their farms, they cultivate sorghum and corn. There are no known schools or healthcare facilities in their villages. The Kujriya speak Sudanese Arabic. The primary religion practiced is Sunni Islam, following the teachings of the Koran.

Ministry Obstacles
There may be no Christ followers among the Kujriya. There are likely no Christians among their neighbors, either. How will they hear without a preacher? The remoteness of their villages and their dedication to the Islamic religion present significant obstacles.

Scripture Focus
"Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD."  Psalm 32:10

Scripture Prayer
Pray for many from this people group to notice this stark difference and turn to the Lord.

Prayer Focus
Pray for the Lord to send compassionate and dedicated workers to the Kujriya. Pray for the Lord to give the Kujriya family leaders dreams of the holy and risen Christ, and that they will share their dreams with many others. Pray that there will soon come a day when Kujriya will accept Jesus Christ as their savior and encourage others in their tribe to accept the teachings of the gospel. Pray for Christians to establish schools for the Kujriya, and that this will help encourage them to follow Christ.
