Torgut Kalmyk in China
tor-GOOT hahl-MUCK
Torgut Mongolians live in a fertile verdant area of grasslands which receive ample rainfall. Folk dancing is their favorite pastime. They claim to be Tibetan Buddhists; however, they practice shamanism. There are no known believers and no church among them. There were efforts by missionaries during the 1900's.
Ministry Obstacles Probably few have heard the gospel. The New Testament, JESUS Film and gospel recordings are available. Pray for Christian materials to be utilized.
Outreach Ideas Dancing that tells the story of the gospel message might be a way to get the interest of these people who love dancing.
Scripture Focus "Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for you are my praise." Jeremiah 17:14
Scripture Prayer Pray for this people group to seek and find the Lord’s healing touch.
Prayer Focus They need the closest known believers to adopt them and share the good news of Jesus Christ. Pray for the readers of this profile right now to stop and pray for this group to hear the good news and to receive it gladly. Ask for an intervention of the Holy Spirit. Pray for the Holy Spirit to be preparing the hearts of the Torgut people to receive the good news with rejoicing.
