Croatian-speaking Jewish in Croatia

The Jews have been in Croatia since the third century. Many were killed during the Nazi occupation of Croatia in World War II. Following the war, most of the survivors fled to Israel, so the Jewish population in Croatia today is small. The largest concentration is found in the capital of Zagreb.

Ministry Obstacles

While the Jews in Croatia tend to be secular, they maintain a strong Jewish cultural identity. Antisemitism has been increasing and is often perceived as coming from Christians in general.

The Bible and other resources are available in their language in print and online. Offering these resources could be effective, especially among college and university students.
