Introduction / History

Mauritius Island, a land area of about 15-by-20 miles long and wide, lies 560 miles east of Madagascar, off east Africa. The island is home for a mixed group including indentured workers, Chinese traders, European settlers and those who descended from slaves. The language they speak is called Morisyan or Mauritian Creole.
Through the years many have settled in other countries to earn a living. Among these are Ireland, the UK, Australia, Canada, Sri Lanka, South Africa and Belgium.

Mauritians in Belgium can be Hindu, Muslim or Christian. A little over half are Christian in Belgium.

The Mauritians need to see the glory of the Lord so they can understand that he is far above all others.
