Introduction

By tradition, the Gossain people have removed themselves from material pleasures. They live by collecting alms and looking after temples. They are what we call ascetics, fully devoted to the religious system of Hinduism.

Ministry Obstacles

Devotion to a religious system is a major hindrance to accepting grace and mercy from the King of kings. Devotion needs to be centered on the person, Jesus Christ, not on a religious system.

Outreach Ideas

It will take much prayer before people can approach these devout Hindus with spiritual discussions about the need for a holy Savior.

Prayer Focus

There are no known followers of Christ among the Gosain people in Nepal, India or Bangladesh, so pray that the 2020s will be a decade of spiritual breakthroughs in all three countries. Pray for the Holy Spirit to give the Gosain people in Nepal teachable and understanding hearts. Pray for Gosain families to be drawn by the Holy Spirit to seek forgiveness, and to understand the adequacy of Christ's work on the cross. Pray for teams of believers to do sustained, focused prayer for the Lord to open the hearts of Gosain family leaders to experience God's blessing through a movement of family-based discovery Bible studies.
