Mogofin is an ethnic group that lives only in Guinea, West Africa. They are defined by their language, Mogofin, and they speak the Mikifore dialect.
The Mogofins are subsistence farmers who grow rice, peanuts, cassava, and sweet potatoes. Palm oil is a key commodity for local trade. Family inheritance is tied to land ownership and orchards. In the marketplace, they sell their surplus produce, baked goods, baskets, wooden goods, and ceramics.
Most Mogofins are Muslims who take their Islamic duties seriously. They distribute food to the poor or give them money. They crave blessings from Allah. Many compromise their faith in Allah by depending on the spirit world.
Mogofins require sufficient medical clinics to address their immediate healthcare needs. West Africa is short of reliable drinking water, and water is often inadequate for needed irrigation.
They need more than a couple of gospel recordings and Scripture verses to understand that Jesus came to the world to save sinners.
Pray for their physical needs to be met and that they will give thanks and honor to God the Father.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to Mogofin elders through dreams and visions, preparing them to fall in love with Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Mogofin people will be adopted through the People Group Adoption program so that they will have regular prayer and ultimately workers among them.
Pray for Mogofin disciples who will disciple others.
